Since 2022, Cleveland Animal Care and Control has seen a drastic increase in population, similar to many other shelters across the country. To help reduce this population, as CACC is an open intake city-operated shelter, local rescue organizations often pull dogs and welcome them into their programs. Some of the dogs pulled by these rescue organizations have medical needs that can be quite costly, such as major surgeries, Parvovirus treatment, dental work, and more.
To help offset these medical expenses, Friends created the Rescue Sponsorship Program. This program allows local rescue organizations to receive funds to help cover a portion of the medical costs they will incur for each dog.
This program has been made possible thanks to our dedicated and generous supporters. In 2023, Friends provided $35,033.92 to 15 local rescue organizations, giving 44 dogs a chance at a happy, healthy, forever home.
Rescue organizations who pull a dog from CACC may click on this link to apply for a Rescue Sponsorship.
Sweet Manny is just one of the dogs that have benefitted from a rescue sponsorship.
