Since 2022 Cleveland Animal Care and Control has experienced a drastic increase in population like many other shelters across the country. In an attempt to help reduce the population, as CACC is an open, in-take city-operated shelter, local rescue organizations will often pull dogs and welcome them into their program. Some of the dogs that the rescue organizations pull have medical needs that can be quite costly, such as major surgeries, treatment of Parvovirus, dental work, and more. In order to help offset the cost of these medical expenses, Friends created the Rescue Sponsorship Program. This program allows local rescue organizations to receive funds to help cover a portion of the medical expense they will incur with that particular dog.
This program has been made possible thanks to all of our dedicated and generous supporters. To date, Friends has been able to provide $17,891 to ten local rescue organizations, giving 22 dogs a chance at a happy, healthy, forever home.
